I have a 1980 Roadrunner. It needs restored but I want some opinions to see if it will be worth the expense.
get a price quote from a reputable restoration outfit or go price it all out yourself.honestly unless the car is in pretty good shape to begin with...you'll be upside down in the deal by the time its all said and done.
These cars are not too popular, and the Road Runner specific parts are tough to find and very high priced. If the "restoration" is just a clean-up and repaint, it might be worthwhile to do it. If you are going to have to hunt down and purchase rare parts... be careful, because it will be very easy to spend way more than the car will ever be worth.
what is a 1980 road runner, the last of the volare's? sounds like a great candidate for a gen 3 hemi/over drive swap!!
I would cost out the restoration and compare that to the current value of a low mileage car in good condition.,. no point sinking $3000 or more into a car that will only be worth a portion of that, when all is said and done. The exception would be sentimental value if the car was willed or left to you by a relative.
