Hoping one of you can confirm what the correct colour of the engine and transmission should be for a 1969 Coronet Super Bee 383

almost all I see are orange ,but many sites show the correct specs for the 69 as Turquoise or SH/Blue 1
they do show orange for 440 6 pack and 426 hemi

the project car on the Mopar Muscle site shows the 383 engine as Turquoise when removed from that car

so which is factory correct for the engine and 727 Torque Flight ?

thanks

The transmissions are never painted. If it is the 335 horsepower 383 Magnum, the "base" (and only 383) 1969 Super Bee engine, it is supposed to be Hemi Orange. The paint is available from Chrysler, p/n P4349216.

Confusion sets in because other "low performance" (non-Magnum) 383s that came in a slew of other Dodges were painted Turquoise.

Thank you ,clears up some of my confusion , my only other comment or question  is the video on Mopar Muscle project car (69 Super Bee ) shows the engine coming out of the Super Bee and it is Turquoise , I was pretty sure the 383 in Coronet SB were all 335HP,  the one in the video is definitely Turquoise.

I am considering buying a car I have found , the transmission in this car has old turquoise paint on it , the 383 is Orange , yep a bit confusing for a novice mopar guy (me)

thanks again

In 40+ years various people have painted engines the wrong color. Or the engine/trans has been replaced. All you can do is check the s/n stamped on them, and/or the casting numbers. The colors mean basically nothing by now.
