I have a 1978 Chrysler cordoba and I changed the filter and adjusted the bands and dumped new fluid in. I had drive for a week but no reverse then it switched to have no drive and I have only reverse now its been racking my brain on what it could be. I'm thinking of taking the pan off and doing a pressure check on the bands to see if they are even working properly. Have any ideas on what the problem would be?

Did this happen after the filter change and band adjustment?  The common things are low/reverse band and forward reverse clutch.  The low band is not needed when taking off in drive or second.  The car should take off in drive even with a problem with this band.  The front clutch or (direct/reverse clutch) is only needed in drive when the trans shifts into third.  Even the over-running clutch or sprag is not used for both, only taking off in drive.  It seems like there is a valve body problem or the second gear band is too tight, stopping the operation.

Good luck Don
