My dad is restoring a 1970 roadrunner convertible. As he is putting it back together, the steering gear is hitting the frame. Should there be a shim between the steering and the K member or is this normal for steering gear to hit the frame? Are all of the B body K members the same or is there a difference between a hardtop and convertible K member for 1970? He has had the car apart for 15 years and can't remember. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
