Hey guys I have a 360 in my 50 dodge truck and I need some help with it.
heres the stats so far.
360 v8 no mods to the block as in not bored over or anything
Edelbrock perf intake
Edelbrock 1406 600 cfm carb
stock heads
mild cam the guy I bought it from couldn't remember anything about other than it was a mild cam one of the reasons I am asking for advice.
stock exhaust manifolds
magnaflow exhaust not sure of pipe size.
727 trans with a 2000 stall conv
3.55 gears in the rear.
my tire size is 29"
I run about 2200 rpm at 60 mph.

Issues I'm having:
truck wants to surge at lights sometimes, I'm thinking I need to change to a 3000 stall converter.
pita to tune but I think I have it set pretty good now idle is around 700 while in drive, and 950 in park, but it still wont light the tires up it takes it a second to get going like your taking off in 2nd in a stick, another reason I think the stall is too low.
still adjusting the kickdown its being a pain.(kickdown is the lokar cable system)
Mileage is at 10 mpg on the highway would like to improve it or stay where I am. I don't want to loose any mpg the truck needs to go to AA meetings for her drinking problem as it is.
I'm running 87 octane right now but don't mind going up if it increases drivability of the truck.

Things I'm looking at doing
shorty headers to clear the steering box and ditch the stock exhaust manifolds
Heads but not sure what to run
roller rockers
3000 stall conv
upgrade to A518 46rh 4 speed AT to help with highway mileage.

the motor has only 3500 miles on the build as it is so I shouldn't need to rebuild anything. So what would you guys do? I want a nice cruiser that I can have fun with and can get out of its own way.
heres a pic of the truck thinks for taking the time to look.
