In 1970 my young wife and I went to the local Plymouth dealer to shop for our first brand new car. In the showroom were two jewels, 1970 Roadrunner Convertible and a 1970 Sassy Grass Green 340/4-speed Duster. I of course was drooling over the Roadrunner and its big block, but Winona was sitting behind the wheel of the Duster. Well, you know how that went. Our first brand new car ever was the Sassy Grass Green Duster. It was a Late-production 1970 and the Sassy Grass Green was listed as a 1971 color. It also had White (yes, White) interior. Over comes the salesman and sees that he has a sale by te expression on my wife's face. I thought that I could still get my Roadrunner, when I said that I could not live with the white interior. To that he replied, "No problem, we will swap it out for an additional $15". Wife says deal, and that was how we got our forst and only MOPAR.We traded in the Duster in Austin, TX several years later, as our family was expanding and we thought we needed a bigger vehicle. Oh what an error in judgement to give up that car. It was really fun to drive.Oh well, we all have cars that we wish that we could get back. But I learned and after 43 1/2 years I still have Winona.
