I am building a 360 for my Satellite that will hopefully produce around 400hp. So far I have a set of re-built "J" heads, RPM airgap intake, Edelbrock 750 Performer Carb. I have not selected a cam, pistons etc yet. I've been looking for a good distributor but have not had much luck making a decision on what would be the best brand, performance and cost for this unit. Any help would be appreciated.
This is hard to reply to. There is a huge lack of information in your post. What will the car be used for? Transmission? Gear ratio? Pump gas? Octane? Heads rebuilt how? Let's start with these questions and people will be able the chime in.
I have a stock 85 360 and want to add some UMPH to my truck! Still looking to be able to tow a work trailor, quad trailor, small RV. I have an 85 Royal SE Prospector W150 I picked up for $200!! this baby has no major dents, only rust is in the exhaust which is getting replaced this weekend, even came with extra snow tires on wheels!! So far I picked up some Headman shorty headers and a Flowmaster 3" Hushpower. Ive been looking into both J Heads and Magnum heads and im kind of torn between the two. It has a quadrajet cam on it as well, I dont know if it was stock or not. This wont be a daily driver but will utilied as a vehicle of need. As in reliable. If anyone WITH KNOWLEDGE and not JUST an opinion wants to chime in that would be awesome! I'm looking to push around 350hp with torque!
What budget are you working with? Yes, some trucks came with Quadrajet carburetors.
Don't really have a budget but I'm not trying to break the bank either.
