Newbie (kinda) to Mopar with engine question

Hi guys. Kinda of a newbie here. Had a 65 Barracuda for years, Got a 440 4 bbl 727 motor/trans in a vehicle now. Does that count? Never mind that the vehicle is a house on wheels, (Winnebago for you blonde chicks ). Anyway, I put a 383 in a 65 Fury 111 vert and was wondering about something. The motor I pulled out had the dipstick on the left side and the one I took out in has the hole for the dipstick on the right side. Does that indicate a different year? I don't have the casting numbers handy but thought someone may have a quick answer. Also, if anyone has a dipstick tube out and could mic it for me and give me the outside diameter, I would greatly appreciate it. I plan on getting a freeze plug to plug the hole on the right side and move the dipstick to the left. Thanx in advance for helping out a newbie.
