Has anyone used the Total Seal Gapless top ring set?I tried searching for information and many posts say they are not worth the extra *** If they give me a bit more engine vacuum I may be interested in trying them.FWIW, I am freshing the 500" stroked 400 engine, 12.4:1 compression, MW Victor heads, no power adders, 7,000 RPM max, solid roller cam, 0.700"+ lift, currentk 264 @ 0.050 duration, but plan to go slightly larger (after having the heads flowed), High altitude (Denver, CO) hence the low vacuum.
Hi 451, I once used them on a 413 drag race only engine. They performed well. Very good compression pressures, and ran low 12s at Bandimere in the 70s.
Would like to meet with you some time as I also live in the Denver area, and currently running a 451 in my 69 RR.
Gary, sent you a private message.As for the rings, most feedback I have gotten is t just use the regular style moly rings. The Total Seal CR9190-130 (4.375" bore) is what came with the stroker kit.
