74 Satellite, im doing a 400/500stroker with an objective of 600hp/600tq on pump gas for a street strip car.I want to put a Strange Dana 60 rear in with truetrac and 3.54 or 4.10 gears.. my question lies in the trans amd drivshaft.I would Love a 5speed swap but all the Tremec kits I see say theyre only good for 500-600tq. I know a sturdy 727 would handle that power but im not sure about a new 5spd. Also what kind of driveshaft would I have to run with that? Any advice helps!
Keisler SS700. 700 ft/lbs.I ordered one for my 505" stroked 440 in Aug, still waiting for it?
Keisler SS700 5-speed, 700ft/lbs. Kit comes with driveshaft.Rebuilding a 727 with billet drums, and the other performance upgrades, will cost about the same.Oops, I thought my first reply did not go through.
Yeah, ive not hear great things about Keisler though. I will have to look into that though.
A friend has one of the Keisler TKO transmissions in his car and he really likes it.
I hear the biggest problem with Keisler is their customer service and credibilty. I looked up the SS700, only to find multiple forum threads complaining about keisler. I read about many others in your situation that are on a waiting list for the same trans. I dont know if I could put up that kind of money for something that will take months and months to recieve. Especially when no one truly knows the reliablity or performance of them yet. Guess I'll just have to wait n see. But imho Keisler has really got some catching up to do. Hope your experience goes well. Post a thread when you get your trans. I'd like to hear about it.
There is not many places making Mopar overdrive transmission kits, and many are even more expensive. Got a message on my phone today, #165 in the que, 8 to 10 week till shipment?
How much is the SS700 kit by the way? I didnt see a price
When I ordered mine it was $3,499, and that was the transmission, driveshaft, crossmember, transmission mount, speedometer cable, reverse light wire harness, roller pilot bearing, hardware for items like crossmember, bellhousing, shifter, etc. This will bolt upto a stock unmodified bellhousing. I opted to spend extra on a new aluminum bellhousing ($329.95), clutch and pressure plate good for 650 ft/lbs? ($299.95) and billet flywheel ($269.00) (my original clutch needed to be replaced anyway.) I am using the stock clutch linkage and z-bar with a new throwout bearing ($79.95), but they also sell a hydraulic throwout bearing setup and pedal kit if converting an automatic car. When I pre-ordered, they were offering free shipping.I ordered the shifter for use with the stock B-Body console ($159.95.)I also ordered some odds and ends like shifter ball, flywheel purssure plate bolts, etc. So I ran up a total tab of $4820.60
