I've got a 440 and i put on b1/bs heads in a 1970 dodge challenger. When we went to put on our headers which are the hooker super comp headers we had a problem everywhere of the headers touching. I know that the headers need to be cut and rewelded. Any one else have b1 heads on their e-body? and how did you do it to make the headers fit without buying the tti headers?
I had the 2" Hooker super comp headers on my old 451" stroked 400 (with the B-1 B/S heads), and got them to fit into my '71 Charger, but I had to beat on them a bit. With the taller and wider 440 I think your going to have to do major surgery on the headers. The TTI makes a header for that application, but $800 for headers is pricy.
