Have a mopar performance intake stamped year 2004 aluminum,dual-plane, for a SB still in the box(came with the car)would that work for a 318 350 to 400 hp build, also have a (still in the box ) holley 770 st.avenger elec. choke vac. secondary from 2007,not sure about the intake, thanks for the input, mike
sleepyswinger/Mike for your 72 Dart & 318ci hopped up to possibly 350-400HP, the MP dual plane intake choice is good for street/strip use mainly, it will be better than stock manifold for sure, but for all out performance or drag racing, an open single plane & a 1"-2" 4 hole tapered spacer & trick Holley type carb would be better, but you would need way more motor than what you have currently, to do that... IMHO as for the Holley "Street Avenger 770cfm" vac. sec. w/elec. choke, they are highly tunable & easy to learn how to tune, it should be OK & a decent fit for your combo, with other upgrades we discussed, camshaft, heads, 1-5/8" to 1-3/4" headers, 2-1/4" to 2-1/2" exhaust, good electronic ignition, low ohm resistance plug wires, an aluminum 4bbl high rise intake manifold, higher stall converter, steaper gears, better wider tires, lighter wider rims etc., but on a bone stock 1972 318ci it's probably too much carb... PM sent... Happy Moparing

reminds me of Steve's 318 that was with 167 kb pistons and moparperf 59cc magnum heads, 280h comp cam, 750 carb, tti headers, etc and 400 HP. run what u have
Yes,that's what i'm shootin for, 400 + hp,kb 167 pistons zero deck, not sure on heads yet, heard that oem magnum heads have the propensity for cracking, hot rod mag. used engine quest heads, woundering if edelbrock aluminum heads would be worth the big dollers,I,d rather not, just a street ride,i will check out moparperf heads, heads will be ported and the then the sweet sound a big stick from comp cams, getting pretty excited to start the build.Still doin my home work !!
