the closest i can come is my brother drove a omni horizon TC3 for a bunch of years with a 1.8 vw motor..

i learned about working on volkswagen water cooled drive trains on that one..   mostly clutches..  timing belts and water pumps..

all was going good until he tried to pass a mid size delivery truck .. on the right on santa monica blvd in a light rain.. the truck bumped the back corner of his car.. the front swung around and layed flat against the grill for 3 blocks... by that time.. my brother was on a first name basis with all the bugs in the radiator and the word MACK was in a LOT of his dreams after that..  the truck driver did not even know he was there..  pulled over to see why the right front tire was dragging..

Cool.. I like all the Mopar vehicles but I guess I like 80s style bodies more aside from minor body problems. Some of my GTs body and interior parts is going to get a carbon fiber make over.

I've considered getting something from the 80's for a more efficient daily driver.  I had the chance to get an 88 or 89 Shadow that I think had the turbo motor in it, with a 5 speed, and a/c, for $1200.  But by the time I got home, it was gone.

Some of the cars from the 80s get great gas mileage compared to the 90s and early 2000s (00-05ish), even with the turbos. Like 24-28 mpg, I think. Grin
