Hello I was contemplating turning a 52 dodge Meadowbrook into a muscle car but was wondering if you guys could help me decide whether this would be a worth while project or a huge hassle. I am a noob and would be buying the parts and paying installation.here are some links to 52 Meadowbrooks very much like mine in appearance and condition to give you an idea.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3144960/1952-dodge-meadowbrookhttp://www.motortopia.com/cars/1952-dodge-meadowbrook-8192/car-pictures/classic-9577http://www.dodge-club.net/graphics/gallery/full/548_1952_dodge1.jpgadditionally here are the engine specs:http://www.secondchancegarage.com/public/520.cfmAny advice on my engine limitations? I'm not sure what is and what is not compatible as I expect that much of the existing plant would be replaced with new hardware. Does that open my options? Specifically some good engine recommendations would be helpful. I am looking to spend around 9k on the engine though haven't decided on diesel or gas but this car weighs a ton so I am thinking of at least a 400 hp engine. The car came with a poor precursor to automatic transmission called fluid drive that I would want to swap out for a new either automatic or manual.I also would like to add power steering, disc brakes.I am also going to raise the chassis at least 6 inches so that it doesn't ride as low.Anyway it would be great if some of you guys could offer opinions/comments and recommendations on strategy/engine types/transmissions etc for muscling up this "lead sled."
