If you use the formula "bore x bore x stroke x .7854 x # of cylinders = cubic inches, then 3.94* 3.94*3.31 *.7854 * 8 =322.85 c.i.-so sounds like you have a"323".

Why are you calling it "318 stroker"?

Welcome to MM I think what 69 is trying to tell you, is you had a 318 that you turned into a stroker. Your going to have to leave more information then just a 318 bored .30 over... What heads are on it? What size of stroker depends on what was done to it , Ron

74DSWINGER 1st off welcome to MMM forum. Just incase you don't allready know the term "Stroker" referes to a crankshaft throw that has been increased/lenthened to make a longer stroke ALA "Stroker". Just an 0.030" overbore dosn't make it a stroker, just larger bore or "Bored out". Good luck with your project. Happy Moparing.   Budnicks

Yup, it's a 318. It is not considered a stroker until you change the crankshaft and other mods.

Your 318 came factory with a 3.910" bore and 3.313" stroke for 318.2 cubic inches.
A .030" over bore makes it a 323.1 cube engine.

74DartSwinger A 392ci out of a 318 0.030" overbore block would be a 4.018" stroke crankshaft, I'm not sure that crankshaft even is out there. A common 4.0" stroker crank with in a 0.030" overbore (3.91"is std bore 318ci) = 3.94" bore would yeild 390.15 cubic inchs, the math says it would need to be a 0.040"overbore= 3.95" X 4" stroke to have that 392.13 cubic inchs.

Bud, going from a 3.313" stroke to 4.018" is .705" or almost 3/4".,.
Now I know there is going to be rod bolt/cam lobe interference.
Sorry, our friend is dreaming in color cuz that would be a specialty crank, rod and piston assembly. Prolly ALL forged items too
The tremendous cost would not be worth the small gain.
A stock 383 has a 4.250" bore (room for some serious BIG valves) and a 3.380" stroke.
Why bother building something that ends up being inferior to an existing engine.
This build makes no sense to me.,. sorry, I'm out
I have no time to waste, building junk engines
