I have a 1972 cuda project that i would like to convert from drum to disc's on the front.I do not plan on running a "booster" and therfore would like to develop as much pressure as possible.I was told by using a master cylinder with the smallest piston diameter it would develop the most pressure.
Does anyone know if this is true and if so what disc brake master cylinder could be used on this vehicle?
Also is it possible to cross drill stock rotors and see the same performance results as a custom cross drilled rotor?
any input would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
rich

Well the way I did it on my 68' cuda was go the junk yard.
1. I pulled the upper control arms and spidles off a 73' duster with big pattern disk brakes. (((Things that need changed. Sounds to me like you are also trying to save some money too right?))) 2. Master cylinder to the new style. Chose the 3/8 vs. 5/16 diameter. Can be found in summit racing catolog. 3. New brake lines for the new master cylinder to the brakes. these can be pulled off of the donor car in which you are pulling the barkes of off. (I prefer new new brakes lines) 4. Porportioning valve! do not forget this guy it is vey important. you again could pull the one off of the donor car at the yard or you more than likly could by a new one from Napa but I would take the one off the car anyway for napa to pull a part number.
