Well alittle while back ago i posted a topic on my car spewing out black smoke while car was running, well me and acouple of my friends have tuned down the idle and bought a new air filter and cleaned out the carburetor, and well the car is running better but the black smoke still comes out but only when i first start the car, after about 5-8 minutes the smoke dissapears and it runs fine. Any important details im missing on getting it to not smoke at all? or is that somthing that is sussposed to happen normally?

Go to any local parts store and pick up a carb rebuild kit. Should clear it up.

hey Valiant man,

I'm Valiant man here in Australia too....what a bloody coincidence !!

mate, the reason it's blowing black smoke is because your choke is on.

Simple - choke on - engine rich - choke off - lean, smoke gone - easy.

new carb kit, adjust your choke...it's possibly on a little too long.

cheers - fletch.
