Hey can someone help me out there?  I am just turning 15 and working on obtaining a 1974 duster.  I am toying with the idea of putting a shaker hood scoop on it...yes? no?  I also am having trouble with the paint scheme.  I have allready decided to have the hood flat black with the engine size number on it (right now it's a 318 untill I can get a 440) and to have the traditional duster stripes down the fenders.  What I cant decide on it what main color I should do the rest of the body.   I really would love any suggestions or comments.  Thanks.

Orange is the only way to go, with black stripes.

by the way ... i was thinking of putting a '70 sharkstooth grille and hood on it.   That way it will look a bit more muscle car.   What do you think?

The early front clip will bolt up, and will be required for the early grille. You'll also need to convert to an early bumper. And please don't put a Shaker on it.

Shaker hood is cuda, I put a 6-pack hood on mine. I think they look cool on dusters. Mine is "Go green" with Flat black on top. I think the "71" 340 strip kit is the best.

I agree with you.  The 6-pack hood is the best looking hood for an A-body with the twin scoop version a close second.
