Do you run out of power before the end of the 1/4 mile ( car not pulling hard )? If so the 3:91s will likely improve your times.

Not sure its still winter here, so track is closed. I have et slips from the previous owner showing 13.09 at 106 mph. I ask the question because it raps up quick. The dyno testing done by mopar mag states max hp at 5300, is that the highest I should rev it. With the 4:33 gears it does not take long for the automatic to get to 5300? Thank you for your input.

When you get the max HP it's time for another gear or the traps at the end of the strip. 4:33's are high for a 5300 RPM engine but Im sure your 360 will pull strong to around 6200 RPM, or am I wrong? Give it a try and see.

Thank you for your time. It does pull strong to 6000 rpm, but the dyno testing done by factory states max rpm's at 5300 and it doesn't like going beyond 6000. This being the 380 hp crate it is a mean machine (at least to me). I'm just perplexed on if I will loose any time in 1/4 with 3:91's, guess one way to find out.
Seems to want to heat up, any reccomedations on keeping it cool. It has the huge radiator?
Thanks again.

Are you running an electronic ignition, if so what brand? Have you already got the 3:91's?

yes, I just looked it has an excel electronic ignition. I do not have the 3:91's but a mechanic I know has a set with a snub something?
I looked at my radiator and it is fat on top but real scinny on the bottom. I know I will have heating problems.

What type is your ignition control module, is it Mopar or MSD or what? If it's a Mopar module is it orange, black or chrome?

It is red and says Blaster 2 MSD. I assume you are referring to the coil looking unit that is connected to the distributor.
thanks for responding.

No that is your coil. The control module is a thin square thing that mounts with two bolts and has a plug in the front with 4 or 5 wires and is shaped kind of like a baseball dimond with a screew in the center if it is a Mopar module. See if you can find it and let me know.

I'm sorry but I'm not sure what the control module is? I find a chrome piece with plug in the middle behind the Accel electronic distributor, looks stock with no color (painted). The car has a mallory tach with limit rpm. What is the control module your referring to do and what should I have.
I'm overheating, do you have any recommendations besides a shroud? The radiator is rather thin?
Thanks

The control module controls the spark. The chrome box you talked about does it hav a plug like i talked about before? If so that is your control module, the chrome box is the best one. You might need a bigger rad. to stop your over heating, but let me ask anyway do you have a shroud on your rad.? If not you need one if your using a belt driven fan.

Thanks for all the valuable info. No I do not have a shroud, not sure where to find one for a 360 crate to stock radiator. Any recommendations on where I might find a fair prices one? The heating up is getting worse, I don't drive it much but last night I could hear it boiling in the radiator after a short 10 mile cruise. I will pull the radiator tonight and take it in for a flow test.

The shroud from a car with a 318 will be the same as one with a 360, you should be able find one in a salvage yard. Also make sure your cooling system is staying full. Do you have an over flow bottle? You need one and a good 12lb. cap.
