I guess this is just payback for laughing at Pontiac's version of a GTO. Painful as it may seem, Ford got it right with the new Mustang. It hurts me some, but I wouldn't trade my 69 RR for anything. I love em all (a, b, and c body's) and there isn't a nameplate worth applying to the German piece of ____!

I'll continue to live in the past and quite frankly, if you look around, it ain't that bad of place.

The 05 charger may not be the two door classic brawler of the late 60's but the only problem I can see with it is the two doors. When the charger first came out in 1966 beleive it or not it wasnt accepted with open arms. The die hard mopar fans said "They might as well just call it a coronet fastback." And in fact if you compare the 66 charger to the 05 you will see a lot of similarities in the body lines. It is a rearwheel driven american car that can be had with a 425hp v8 hemi. Wait what? the same amount as the origanal hemi?! Thats crazy.

Im seventeen years old and wasnt around during the musclecar boom, but i wish to god I was. But im tired of hearing you mopar "fans" badmouth the preasent chrysler corperation. Because benz has taken the reighns mopar has had the money to take risks like the thomahawk, me 412, 300c, magnum, and not to mention the best thing out of detriot in many years; the 05 dodge charger srt8.

Hey Luker:

I will have to admit that the 2005 Charger is beginning to "grow on me". I sat in one the other day and was "quite" impressed and am ("get this" Now interested in getting one to replace my Dodge Intrepid as a family car (Maybe DC isn't so crazy in their marketing strategy). I can accept the 4 doors, especially since I am hearing that DC is planning to introduce a two door Dodge Challenger and redesigned Charger for 2009. Most likely the Charger will have a two door option.

Besides I have a 1970 Challenger that has so blasted much torque and HP that it scares the Be-jezzers out of me every time I put the pedal to the metal.

Goldie!!!! Don't cave!!! It's not a Charger!!! It's a freaking FOUR DOOR!! If it was called a Monaco it would be a nice family car and I might buy one myself. But we loyal few that call our selfs Mopar fans should remain strong in the face of this attack, and let DC see that they can't just through a great name on a four and have every one fall on the ground and kiss there feet!!

Loyal mopar Fans should stick to the "original" chargers. 69 general Being my fav (of the chargers)... now... concerning the "new charger"... lol?

the 4 doors isnt what kills the car. Its the whole damn thing... the front on that... the pointy lights? like wtf?

Are u trying to turn it into a ricer or something?

Whoever can sit there and look at the front of that car and say "man that looks nice"... should resign from this forum and alt+F4.

they shouldnt try to "bring back" an old legend.

Same thing with the mustangs same thing with the new so called "challenger"

anything "new" looks seriously retarded.

The whole point of a "charger" was that everyone knows what a "charger" is. If ur gonna go rebuild some ricy looking heap of **** and put the name charger/challenger to it.

The "old" legends wont be as "legendary" anymore. Cause every1 will have "a charger"... they shud have stayed the way it was... the few that are around n just increase value on them, and whoever had money to buy a charger... cud least sit there saying he had a real car. Not drive down the street seeing some truck/rice looking "chargers" everytime he goes out.

Now u gotta sit there and tell some1 "i got a charger" then they will ask"which 1?"

#### man there ONLY WAS 1!

Japan couldnt make muscle cars (rx3) like wtf is that? fits inside the hood of a dodge

America cant make new cars... like wtf they look like *** imports

America was famous for "muscle" cars. thats when they knew how to build cars.

Stick to what you know and dont bring back something that was legendary just to smere the name of it in present/future.

There's my 2cents on that matter.

Goldie1 I don't know what your challenger has in it but I can tell tou no amount of horse power over 1200 gets to me. The reason I say this is because my 69 Charger use to have a 665hp 646LB/FT torque 496 cubic inch big block in it built by Ray Barton. The engine is going to be rabuilt using new pistons 55 over to make a 500 inches and 800 to 900 hp using Indy 440-1 head kit and will find a new home in the form of a 69 Roadrunner built just for racing.

As for the "Charger" it is a waste of naterual resorces. The charger r/t concept would have sold better even if it was left as a 4 door. We can thank the butchering of the concept "Charger R/T" to NASCAR. Why do think Pontiac got out of NASCAR? When people went car shopping and looked at the grand am and the stratus they got more with the stratus and looked vary much alike. We can thank PUSCAR I mean WUSCAR sorry NASCAR for their crapy common body template B.S. for the butchering of a good concept car the "Charger R/T".

Rob:
I agree. I wish that the 2005 Charger was called something else. How bout a "Sport Fury". It isn't bad looking, but yes the Charger name should be for a 2 door muscle car.
In regards to Nascar, They need to get back to the good old days of having factory style bodies competing against each other.

OK the new charger was not a waste it is a very nice car that looks great in dark blue but it does not deserve the charger as the only body line it has that even remotely looks like the old school charger is the high rise rear fenders if it was to be a charger they would have put a charger grill on it it would resemble its older brothers a hole hell of allot more i cant understand how all the car company's can make cars like these and give them classic names so far the only classic to come back right is 05 ford mustang the only one Chevy and dodge I'm sorry need to go back to the drawing board and try again i for one am greatly disappointed come on dodge your supposed to be the leader here why has ford taken the lead here

and on a further note any 50-60-70's classic mopar's where works of art ment to be drooled over and it is a slap in the face of all classics be it ford chevy or mopar to have the charger name on that car
