i am 23 yrs. old and have recently started restoring my first car. it is a 73 plymouth scamp with a factory 318. the car has factory A/C, power steering and power brakes. i recently bought a 383 out of a 68 fury. my question is this. will i be able to keep the power brakes? the vaccum booster and master cylinder are very close to the little 318 and i am sure that the 383 won't fit with them there. are there relocation kits? or do you just switch over to manual brakes? this is my first attempt at building a car so any help would be much apprieciated. thanx alot. Brian.

Yes it can be done. with that said.
Shumacher, makes motor mount kits for the convertion. They require a little fitting, but do work good.
If you are really patient you can have it all, A/C, power brakes. But I don't recommend it for a first car build. Everything is very tight and a couple items require slight modification.
good luck

The 383, A-body conversion works well. You can but tri-Y headers from Schumacker which can be put on with engine in a-body. You could try a hemi style brake boster (Smaller diameter) for more clearence. I belive Master Power Brakes sales them. Mike

If you've never done this I suggest you go to http://Bigblockdart.com those guys do these all the time. I personally don't like the TRY-Y's as much as TTI's 2" headers, they fit both B and RB's in A-body's. Check it out Engine by DeTar
