ok guys,

i took my charger to the track friday night to test the new combination and i had a few problems

my first run:  the engine was at 190c degrees temp, outside temp was 30c degrees i did no burnout (street tires), launched good slight spin, 60' time 2.4 pulled hard through first shifted at 5200rpm into second, fell flat on its face and started decelerating like it was out of gas then it picked up slowly and then recovered fully, shifted to third at 5000rpm and pulled strong through the traps for a 16.22 at 85mph (ran consistant 14.5's last year at 94mph but had this same problem a couple of times so i replaced the pump with a street strip carter mechanical to try to fix the problem)

my second run:  engine temp 180c outside temp 26c, did a small burnout this time to try to clear any hot fuel from the carb,
launched hard- 60' 2.12, pulled hard, shifted to second at 5300rpm, pulled hard to the 1/8 mile then fell flat on its face, pumped the gas made no difference,I let the motor catch up and shifted to third at 5200rpm, pulled hard through third and gave me a 15.1 at 90mph

my third run: engine temp 170c outside temp 23c, did a longer burnout to see if it helped,
launched well- 60' 2.27, pulled good but not as hard as the last run shifted to second at 5300rpm pulled good to third at 5200rpm and pulled through the traps at 14.2 98mph
the run was good but it felt restricted
i run with a half tank of 94 octane gas

the problem sometimes happens on the street when i make a stoplight pass will happen when it hits second, always feels like its out of gas
the vent tube on my fuel tank- i can blow through the rubber hose but its like blowing through a 1/8" straw, the tank has a sealed gas cap (sometimes when i take it of there will be pesssure behind it???
the fuel pump: is new 6psi unit the filter is 1 year old
the carb: is a thermoquad 9046 which always runs good, idles good and starts with half a crank it never bogs or hesitates off the line
the car:a 1974 charger 3820lbs with a 440 727 and 3:91 gears (with a sometimes sure grip)the motor:440 9:0 comptression (measured) 346 heads (milled .060 and ported and port matched) mp 484 cam with 114 lobe, installed 4degrees advanced, matching comp cams valve springs, new cloyes dbl roller chain, holley street dominator manifold (ported and port matched) thermo, stock elec distributer with mp advance springs 38 degree total (vacuum disconnected) blaster2 coil and a mp chrome box, headman shorty headers(for ground clearance) and 2 1/2 duals with flowmasters, stock 5/16" fuel line and stock tank pickup.

the rest: stock 2 core rad, tranny cooler, 727 with 2300 stall converter and a transgo stage 2 kit,  27" rear tires
hope somebody can help me solve this problem.

my latest modifications since last year: (14.5's) are the holley manifold vs the stock iron, 9:1 comp up from 7.8 stock 346's,
the carter fuel pump from the stock, and the new cam from a stock .450 lift cam.
thanks for anyones help.. i tried to keep it as short as possible but tried to put any relevant info on here
thanks jason

To start you need to go to 3/8" fuel line and up your fuel pressure to around 9 PSI, get a 850 Holley with vaccum secondaries and new fuel filter.
