I just purchased my first 60's era car and am real excited.  I have a few questions regarding this specific car:

1967 Plymouth Fury III Sport
383 4bbl 325HP V8

Question 1:  I'm told that I do not have to put a lead additive in the car if I use 93 octane.  Is this true?  What should I really use?

Question 2:  What is a good repair manual that I can use to do repairs on this car?  Are there other websites, forums...etc deticated to the C Body?

Here are the pics:

I also wanted to know what kind of fuel stabilizer I can use while this is stored over the winter.

Damn! That thing is gorgeous.

Whether or not you need lead additive depends on whether or not the engine has been rebuilt.  Most rebuilders in the last 20 or so years put in hardened valve seats. No way to tell if you have them or not without taking the heads off. BUT... unless you plan on driving this a LOT, like long highway miles, really I would not worry about it. As long as the engine runs happily on 93 octane, there is no need for fuel additives at all. Maybe someday down the road you'll need a valve job.

As to long term storage, what I do is mix a whole bottle of "Stabil" with 5 galons of gas, put this mix in the gas tank, and then drive/run the car for at least a few minutes to get the mix into the lines/carb. Then make sure the tank is full of gas before you tuck the car in for the Winter.

Good luck with it, it is a stunning car!

Thanks for the info.  I've been searching for repair manuals but have not had any luck yet.
