When I put a new (and non-split) shifter boot on my 1970 challenger, the angle of the pistol grip shifter is such that it has an extreme angle on the shifter boot - so much so that the boot is only is a "neutral position" when in the R-1-3 position and putting it in 2 or 4 position places so much torque on the shifter arm that it will pull the tranny out of gear when there is no torque being delivered to the rear wheels.  It seems like the shifter is at the wrong angle.  Anyone else have this problem or have a clue on how to fix?

Thanks
