I need to repleace the floor shifter in my van 1981 A833 4 Speed,anyone out there with any info please reply. Tech at B&M(Hurst) had no soulition

they used to rebuild them...
does this have a slip in shifter????

have you replaced the shift rod end bushings???? readjusted the linkage after that...
that shifter handle must be really long and curved..
how handy are you ... as most shifters can be taken apart... cleaned internally... perhaps... cutting new spacers out of shim stock. 4 inch by 12 inch pieces of shim stock are available... metal nibblers can be used to shape it to the scribed pattern of you old shims...
there is a small chance that some manual transmission rebuilder/ parts store might have a shifter you can buy...
it looks like a conventional hurst shifter.. with a special handle.. perhaps one of the restoration parts suppliers might have something..
post a picture of the shifter handle to photobucket.. and post the link on this thread.. i would love to see what it looks like..
if you have worn thick steel parts in the shifter... you can weld up the worn parts ... and grind or file them back to the proper gap/slot
