Drove my 64 non letter 300 into what I was told by several people was a reputable restoration body shop. Got it back a year later, my car fund gone, parts missing and most of the car considered a "basket case!" Yes it was my "Year of Living Stupidly" and I ask no sympathy, but I could use a little information.
I have to put the front end back on the car, along with several other things, but have not a single nut, bolt, washer, etc. I have lots of little plastic bags with "stuff" in them, not one with any interior or exterior nuts, bolts or fasteners of any type. How do I figure out what size nut and bolt to use and what grade bolt do I use. I've been to the big box stores, Home Depot, Lowes and Menards and all they have are small packages of these things. There some place, in the Joilet, or Chicago Illinois area, that anyone knows of, where I can buy this stuff in bulk? Somewhere on the internet?

first question is are u just wanting to get it together or doing more of a mopar correct resto? mopar used many fancy bolts/washers and nuts and fasteners-go to junkyards, swap meets, car shows and see. most is grade 5. if not a resto everything can be replaced/upgraded with hardware store stuff such as grade 8, sae washers, nyloc nuts etc. online if u know what u want boltdepot.com is is it.

i wonder if chrysler had assembly manuals for those models... if so.. they would list what every bolt was and where it went... and how to put it all back together.. i just don't know that much mopar...
there are just so many sizes of fasteners... most mopars.. used 5/16 - 18 captured washer hex head bolts.. now known as sems.. they also used 1/4- 20 hex head captured washer bolts.. along with a bunch of other sizes...
this is a huge catalog... with almost every fastener you will ever need
http://www.auveco.com/product/index.html
http://www.auveco.com/download/catalog/auveco_catalog.pdf
some are available at automotive upholstry supplies stores..
with a proper description of the fastener .. they are easier to get...
be sure to save that download.. its huge and will come in handy for years to come...

Just trying to get it back together so I can get it out on the street and to a few Cruise Nights in the area next spring/summer. I've been staring at a 426 Hemi sitting between the frame rails for almost 4 years now and have not even been able to start it! About the only place I'm going to have to get the fancy screws is for the interior all those are missing too. Thanks for the URL I'll go check that out soon as I'm done here.
