Hi I recently posted a problem with my 67 4 barrel 383 mopar, i removed the fuel line from the carburetor and turned over the engine for 10 seconds, i repeated the procedure and both times ended up with 6 ounces of fuel. It has a new sending unit and fuel filter ,the stream of fuel was even pulses, does this confirm a problem with the fuel pump. Pete

that just does not sound like enough.. but i bet that motor cranks really slowly.. i wonder how many pulses you got out of the pump...
just curious... i would think that one your car.. the fuel pump only has a pair of fittings.. one from the tank.. and one to the carb.... without a small return line to the tank.. i have had later mopars that had fuel problems.. and would run out of fuel under a small load... ... this was fixed by installing a hose clamp on the small return line... and tightening it until it just barely squirted... i did have it off at the tank... and had a remote starter switch to crank the motor from underneath.. seems the return line restriction in the tank failed... i never did get to pull the sending unit..
i would also check to see if the pump holds pressure...
can you do a free flow test with the line to the fuel pump???? run it into a bottle... and have someone blow some air with a hose and their hand or a rag wrapped around it... to see if the fuel line flows freely... be ready to plug it.. and make sure the person blowing into the tank can let go with their hand first.. the hose only needs to go in 2 inches.. they might get a face full of fuel if it goes wrong..
theres no chance that the new fuel hose you put on when you pulled the sending unit got kinked??????
i also take it that you are still working on the 30 second crank times after letting it sit for a day...
seeing if the pump holds pressure when you stop cranking the engine...

I will do the free flow test later, i was checking in my service manual and it states that you should get a quart in 30 seconds or less, if i take my ten second test and times it by 6 i actually get 36 ounces, just over a quart. When turning over the engine i got 5 or 6 pulses in 10 seconds, I am also looking at psibly replacing my points with electronic conversion just in case this is an ignition problem. Pete
