I have read several times in other threads and Jerry Heasley's article that "AMX" stands for "All Mopar Experimental", it does not. It does in fact stand for "American Motors Experimental" I have owned 2 AMX's, (1-1970 & 1-1968) and 1-1970 Javelin SST all with the 390 motor and I can tell you they are definitely NOT Mopar. However 2 of my 3 - 390 cars did sport the greatest transmission of the time known as the 727. The Javelin had a Borg-Warner Super T-10.(BOO!) I live in Rockford, IL. now and I am surrounded by guys who worked in the Kenosha AMC plant that now work at the Belvedere, IL. Chrysler Plant. You want to talk about a bevy of information! Gives me a WOODY! Drag ON!

Absolutely correct AMC guy.
Anyone that thinks a 60s AMC is a Mopar shouldn't be writing for a car magazine.

I thank the reason you see the Mags and car shows placing AMCs in the Mopar Coral is that now that Morpar owns AMC/Jeep as of 1988 that is the only place to coral them.
