Sounds like the brakes are out of adjustment. They should have self-adjusters, but sometimes they stop working, or were removed at some point in the car's history. First step is to jsck it up and see if each brake has a slight amount of drag.

How do these self adjusters work and where would they be located?

When you pull the drums off it'll look like this underneath. While Mopars don't look exactly like this, it's close.

Do you think it'd be best to just replace the whole left drum?

the drum is probably not the problem. the adjusting lever and star wheel(has threads that need lube) self adjust outward when stepping on the brakes when traveling in reverse to compensate for shoe wear. if the left adjuster is stuck then the right brake will grab first. maybe the left wheel cylinder is not working properly.

Can you post the results of what you find is causing the problem?
My 1970 Challenger pulls to the right REALLY bad when I put on the breaks.
Thanks

I had this problem, where it pulled a lot to the left when I braked in my 69 Charger. it turned out that some one had replaced the front left brake shoe with one from a truck but not changed the right drum shoe. Not sure if that was the whole problem but I'm sure it was part.
