I have a 67 Dart with a 273 engine and a 3 speed automatic.... I need to replace the tranny.....
What is the model of this unit.... Is it a 904 torqueflight? If it is the 904 what are my options for picking up another tranny and replacing it in the car with no modifications? Can I use a 904 from a 6 cylinder model? or is the bellhousing different from what I have?
Any help would be most welcome....

You cannot use a 904 from a 6 cyl, different bell housing. Any 318 904 from a newer model should bolt right in. You will need to use the converter and the flex plate from the 273 so you don't end up with a vibration. Good luck Doc

u can also use a 360 904 but do not use the 360 weighted converter. early torqs used a 1 wire electrical connector and later used a 3 wire. u can swap out the connector unit and the inside shift contact arm unit. some early 60's auto trans used a small input shaft.

I had a 69 Dart 318 car, a bought a 904 TCI trans from Summit years back, about $700, it was a sweet tranny, worth the money.
