Is a Race 440 Short Block a good option for me if I want to make my 69 Charger and everyday driver and a weekend racer?. And if so is it an easy conversion from a 318 to a 440?

Depending on how "race" oriented your 440 would be, and your willingness and ability to deal with "Race" engine characteristics, it might be fine for a weekend driver.
The easiest way to convert to a big block from a small block, is to contact Schumacher Creative Services. They offer conversion mounts to make it happen.

It means that my internals are forged. JE Pistons, Eagle Rods, and Micropolished Crank, but my block is a reconditioned 440. And has anyone had experience with Indy Heads. If so would you let me know how good of a success you've had.

What kind of headers do you have on the 440? Because that was one of the big problems with my 360-440 swap. Also you will probably need a center sump oil pan to fit between the K-member and the steering center link. Other than that its not very difficult. You might have to bend the headers, inner fender, or k-member, but just take it slow and be careful putting the motor in. Me and my buddy took 7 hours putting mine in and almost all of that was fiddling with the headers to clear the steering shaft and the right inner fender. It was frustrating but once we got it in it fits great.
