I am helping a friend find a passenger side door for her husbands 73 charger. His daughter ran into it and they are trying to get him a new door for Christmas. What years door would work? Would a 71,72, or 74 door be the same or are we stuck trying to find only a 73 door? Thank you, we appreciate any help we can get. 78bigblock.

A 73 and 74 door will be the same. If you were replacing both doors, it would not matter. The reason, is--for one, the lower body line on 71-72 doors is a complete, uninterrupted line. On 73-74 doors, it's interrupted in the middle of the door.

Thank you for the information, now we just have to find one this far north that is in good shape. Shipping to here is expensive.

don't forget .. there are some really skilled body men out and about.. they can do amazing things..
depending on how bad the door is damaged...
there are even special clamps for the ends of a porta power to grab on to the ends of the door... where the door skin is folded over.. and stretch the door back to length.. hammering the door skin and frame to smooth it..
some sheet metal suppliers might even supply new door skins... i have not checked... most of my knowledge is under the hood.. but i always keep an eye on those body guys.. just in case they need a tip..
want a laugh.. ever heard somebody yell... Get a bigger hammer.. the shop i used to work at.. the body guy was out in the driveway trying to straighten a bumper reinforcement off the car he was working on.. he had a 7 pound long handled sledge hammer.. as i went on a parts run.. he started hammering on it.. when i came back 15 minutes later.. he was still swinging .. i yelled across the lot and said.. Do you need a bigger hammer... he nodded... i walked to my trunk and pulled out the antique 17 pound wide face sledge hammer i happened to have that day.. his eyes bulged out.. it took two swings to straighten it.. i then leaned the bigger hammer against the side of my rollaway... its too big to fit inside ... he was standing there drooling over it.. i noticed .. i broke his heart... i picked it up .. walked to my car and put it back in the trunk.. i could just see him.. waiting for me to walk away.. then it would be his... i not only keep a close watch on the body guys.. i keep a close watch on my tools...
