I am 17 yrs old and working on my first mopar (71 swinger) and loving every minute of it. I am looking to get some cheap upgrades for my 360 thats in it. I have headders, mild cam, weiser highrise intake, and a holley 650 double pumper. Idk if the previous owner did any head work with it but im sure it could use a good port and polish. Other than that is there anything I can do without having to bore the motor?? Also, I have my timing set at 22 degrees and I was wondering if this sounds right for a 360. Thank you

I will awesume this is a street car. If so I hope you are using your vac. advance unit. It is worth aboutr 8-10 mpg. If this is how you have it set up you want 12 degrees initial and 36 degrees total timing. Doc

Many things can cause this sensation however the vac. advance unit will not have that affect. Be sure your timing is set at 10-12 degrees initial and 34 degrees total. I would check for problems with the fuel, plugged filter, lack of fuel pressure etc. Also if you up grade the cam to a higher lift, you will have to install 340 type valve springs other wise you will end up with valve float at about 4000 rpm.
