Hey guys I need some advise. How much does it change duration and lift by going to 1.6 rockers from 1.5? And is it the right idea, I have a Mopar .509 cam in a 440 for serious street and occasional strip use.

Lift goes up by 6.666%, so you are looking at .543" instead of .509" lift. And according to Larry Shepard's book (How To Hot Rod Small-Block Mopar Engines) duration will increase by 2 to 3 degrees for each 0.1 increase in overall rocker ratio. I can't see any reason why this would be any different for a big block.

Don't expect any great performance gain by going from a true 1.5 aluminum roller to a 1.6. I picked up .11 hundreds in my 360. I did notice the 1.6 cranes wear a lot better than my cheapo 1.5's I had. I was adjusting the 1.5's every month. The cranes ones a yr. Doc

OK, that helps, I will just invest in a good set of 1.5's. Thanks

Valve timing stays the same as long as you add .002 to the lash for every point you go up.
Lift is a good thing, and the idea that I like with increasing the ratio is the faster valve movement, like the whole idea behind rollers and how they can open faster therefore stay open longer, and cause the faster opening/closing can maintain good low end street ability/ idle and such...
