I have a 727 automatic installed in a non standard application and the linkage for the kickdown would be hard to rout. I was wondering if I could use an electric solenoid to move the transmission kickdown linkage on the transmission at full throttle. this would be all on or all off no partial throttle movement. Any transmission guru's that can give me an insight?  Thanks, John

you can get a cable operated kick down from either your local mopar performance dealer or through locar. have used on a couple different engine trans combos & this is the easiest way to go. barry

Yes, you need the cable as this is not something a solenoid would work...it is a linear (not on or off) actuator in the tranny.  There are a few cable operated ones out there that work great.  I put one on my 440 cuda with 727 and it works great.  The MP one mentioned I think is cheaper and had I found it I would have bought it!
