i really hate doing this but i need to sell my 55 bel suburban. it has been sitting inside of my garage for a few years. it has not been started for about 5yrs, but when i did drive it ran smoothly! interior is in excellent condition, no work has to be done inside. body is good with small areas of rust, and paint was stripped and primed...so will need to be painted. it is a V8, powerflite, not too sure about the engine, one mechanic said it was 301. i would love to post pics but not sure if i can here. so before i put it up for sale i would like to know how much its worth. can anyone please help me determine the value?? thanx

You will need to tell us some more, is it a two door or a four door.  I would do everything possible to get it in running condition. It will be worth a lot more  running than knowing it has been sitting the past yrs.

thanx for the reply doc!! i agree, it would be worth more if it was running, but unfortunately i cant afford to get it running. its a suburban/station wagon. its in good condition except for a little rust on the bottom corners of the doors. plus it will need a good paint job. i was thinkin about puttin it up sale at 2500-3000??? but dont know if thats ridiculous or under priced. it has been really hard researchin bcas there is not too many out there. the ones i do find are show quality but 6 cylinders. i have v8

Honest, I am not a 50's guy so I am only guessing when I say $3-4000.00. That is usually my bottom line but again this being a wagon it really is not a collectable to most people. So if you get any kind of an offer close to that grab it.
