It doesn't look like it. Plus the tranny and rear end would need replacing too. I suppose you could build a new chassis, and install all new driveline parts, then drop the Prowler body onto it. But why?

the reason I was asking is I am looking at buying a prowler, but, the thing that has kept me from wanting to buy one is it only has a V6 and I was wanting to put more punch under the hood.  Any other suggestions for a motor change?

I am sure the Hemi swap could be done. It all depends on how much work you can or are willing to do. Putting anything larger than a factory rated V-6 in the car presents a whole myriad of issues--first of which concerns the aluminum frame. Like 69 said, a new chassis would most likely be in order.

Save your money, the frame is the weak link in this picture so unless your prepared to start from the ground up with an unlimited amount of cash this project should be avoided.

YOU DO HAVE OPTIONS WITH THE PROWLER!!!
The stock engine can be modified in the usual sense with headers, cam work, heads, nitrous kits, etcetera; for extra power. Superchargers are also available. MANY mods are available for this engine, depending on what you want to spend and how fast you wanna go. Like ANY Mopar...it ain't cheap!!

The 5.7 HEMI is a swap that has been performed many times in these cars also with success. Offhand, I don't know if the 6.1 has been installed yet.

The way the car is made, the side panels come off and allow one easy access to the engine compartment.

The trans can also be beefed up. Performance gears are available for the rear end also.

For those who don't know, the engine is in the front and the trans is in the rear. And yes, it is a rear wheel drive vehicle. The car is not very heavy from the factory and only weighs about 2800 pounds, so it doesn't need an abundance of power to move it along.

If you want to get more radical with the Prowler, the aluminum frame will have to be tightened up and the rear end will need looking into. This vehicle also has independent suspension.

I would suggest that you AT LEAST test drive a stock Prowler. The performance will surprise you. It runs mid fourteens from the factory and gets to sixty in under six seconds.
Keep in mind that the Buick Grand National and GNX ALSO WERE POWERED BY A V6!!
