Converting a LA block to a solid roller cam

Ok guys, I have a technical question regarding solid roller lifters. I currently have solid lifters in my 408 race engine. I am wanting to switch over to a solid lifter roller set up. The Mopar Engines bible says that I have to block off the oil galleries to the lifters for the conversion because the lifter body has a taper in the center that would dump oil pressure and starve the engine.
I've heard some guys say that you can use a solid body roller lifter (from COMP Cams) and get around this problem. Also, what modifications to the block would I need to make?
What's the word from the experts?

it depends on the width of the oil band on the lifter, the cam lift and base circle size, and the block. there are lifters that work with cams of moderate lift with stock blocks. prime the oil pump and engine on the engine stand with a pressure gauge to check

Sorry for the slow reply back, we've been running a lot of missions lately and the internet is down most of the time.
I was looking at a .575/.575 lift, 308/308 deg. duration roller cam. Do you think that would be considered a moderate lift cam? The valvetrain is rated to over .600+. I wouldn't have the opportunity to pressurize the oil system until I get back to the states (hopefully) sometime in Janurary.
How about just an educated guess...

my guess is with current day lifters u will be ok and with a cam that has a factory diameter base circle or so u will be ok, call and ask comp cams and later prime the oil pump to check oil pressure, befor engine install.
