When you go from a normal starter to a high torque starter do you need to change the tooth count?

are you going to a mini starter????
the 3257 starter has 10 teeth...
the early tin can on top starter has 9 teeth... what starters are you swapping...
the 3257 has bolts through the starter solenoid and is a deeper reduction than a 3250... which does not have bolts through the starter solenoid.. the 3250 is kind of light on the torque to start a 440...
the little gear reduction starters just go right on..
