HAVE JUST PURCHASED A 72 DODGE DART SWINGER WITH 318 AND I WANT TO UPGRADE. I'M NOT SURE OF ALL THINGS TO BE DONE. SO A LITTLE HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRIECIATED. I AM THINKING OF 340 J HEADS WITH A EDELBROCK 50761 TORKER II OR A ELDELBROCK 71761 PERFORMER RPM. THEN A HOLLEY 600 CFM CARB. WHAT ELSE CAN BE DONE AND WHAT ARE SOME OPINIONS ON THE SELECTIONS I AM THINKING ABOUT. PLEASE ADVISE THANK YOU.

have you read the many articles in the tech section above... just below the M in muscle...
or try the putting in dart or 318 into the white search window above the subscribe link... there are enough articles there to help you make an informed decision..

The heads are a must, 340 or 360 heads, good intakes too, I have Used edelbrocks for many years, I like dual plane intkaes...also Edelebrock carbs too, a 600 at the smallest... also look into a cam as well.

Stay away from the torker, this might be the worst intake on the market for your application. The Edelbrock Air-gap is an awesome intake. I would install a stock 340 cam, along with a 3500 converter and a 3.91 rear gear. Don't forget a good set of 1 5/8 headers. Doc

A COUPLE DIFFERENT PEOPLE SUGGESTED I USE A 71761 Performer RPM 340/360 DUAL PLANE INTAKE for small-block Chrysler (1500-6500 rpm) ALONG WITH A EDELBROCK 600-650 CFM CARB AND A GOOD SET OF HEADS. ALONG WITH A MODERATE CAM. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
