so... i am trying to figure out which rear end i should use in my 73 duster. i have a 440 (from a 1976 rv) and a 727 torqueflite already bolted up and dropped in. i have a wrecked 1993 f150 351 windsor and a 8.8" rear with either 3.73 or 4.10 gears in it, and i have a parted out 1975 camaro LT with an 8.5" 10 bolt limited slip rear. I know putting either of these rear ends in the duster is slightly unconventional, but i need to put somthing under it because it currently is on jackstands with nothing under it. i bought it w/out a rear, and am trying to use what i have lying around. any suggestions guys?

also im looking for a rear bumper. =)

thanks

8.8 is slightly stronger. However I am not recommending you use either. Personally I believe you will spend more money in the end using a part that half fits with rims that you will likely replace once you install a Dodge 8 3/4 after you destroy the rear ends you have with the torque from the mighty 440.
You would be better off trying to sell or trade the two units for a 8 3/4 posi unit. You won't fetch much for the two you have especially the Chevy rear end however its better to do the job right the first time.
Good Luck

thanks for the input. i know i should do it the right way, but i just paid college tuition and funds are very limited right now lol. i was offered 250-300 for the chevy rear because it's the beefed up stock unit. the LT cars had LSD which is highly desirable for people racing in certain classes. i'm not looking for a final rear that i am gonna beat on, just a rear to drive it from one garage/shop to the next. right now anything is better than nothing, and since it only takes a couple hours to swap a rear out, im not too worried about wasting time. I would love a dodge 8.75 rear, but i cannot seem to locate one for the life of me. i have heard of some people running 8.8 rears all the way to 450 horse with some work done to them. i'm leaning on the truck rear simply for the fact it has either 3.73 or 4.11 in it.

once again, thankyou for your quick response, you wouldnt happen to know a cheap way to acquire a 8 3/4 rear would you?
