i have to rebiuld one of my 727's and my question is which race rebiuld kit would you use,i was going to use mopar performance race kit,a tci bolt in sprag, and replace the spring for the front drum also mopar performance.do you think i should do anything else?i went through about 3 stockers that i got for free that were already rebuilt.i have a cheetah reverse manual valvebody, coan 28-3200stall converter,11 inch i think.8 3/4 rear with 430 richmond gears and i just ran slicks for the first time and smoked the cone style suregrip, but i put a spool in now!by the way it's a truck,@4600lbs last i checked and it runs a best time of 12.49 on street tires with a 2.2 60 foot 440 engine with work,he he.thank you for any info!!!also tire size was mt drag slicks 30" diameter.

Sounds like a good combo except for one thing, you didn't mention your 60 ft times with slicks.
A car or truck in this case running 12.49 should have a 60 ft. time in the 1.6 range. If you don't, you will need more converter to get it there.
I would recommend a Dynamic 9 1/2" street/strip converter, these simply are the best converters out there for a street/strip ride. Something in the 3600 rpm range will do. You will be surprised to note the dynamic converter will weigh about 8+ lbs less than a standard 10" street/strip converter. Also be sure to add a B&M 4 qt. transmission pan along with the biggest trans. cooler you can bolt into the truck. Summit sells a 10x20"x3/8"tube cooler. I run this unit with an accessory fan [for track use] on my street/strip ride with the dynamic converter and have had zero problems now for 5 yrs. I make a point of dumping the synthetic fluid once a yr. in the spring and adjusting the bands every other yr.
Good Luck and happy racing!

The 60 ft. time is way off, you need 500 more stall of converter to get to the 1.6 range, this will help you dip into the 12.20 range or better. Oh and hang on, when I stepped up to a dynamic converter I was shocked at how hard the car left.
Get the bigger cooler, if the temp goes over 200 degrees for the trans fluid for any extended time you are cooking clutchs, that is expensive and a lot of work if you can get extended life from cooler temps.
Save your money and use the Valvoline full synthetic fluid, Mobil 1 is fine and the new Mopar 4 is apparently a semi synthetic blend so I am not fussy on it. All though it will work.
