I have a 1982 Dodge Ram D-150 Miser custom pick up. It's a short box, slant 6; 225 with the 4 speed overdrive transmission, gold pinstripes and the Ram head on the hood.  According to the Haynes repair manual for Dodge pick ups 1974 thru 1993, section 5 page 6, the truck had the SCC ignition system with the 10 pin connector installed at the factory.  A past owner discarded the distributor along with some of the other parts and installed a points distributor including rerouting some wiring to accomadate it.  I would like to install a stock 1991 318 with the TBI system out of a crashed 4x4 extended cab LE plow truck.  I have a few questions.  #1  Would it be better to collect the missing parts and restore the SCC system or convert to a newer electronic system?  #2  Would the 4 speed overdrive transmission handle the 318's power?  #3  Do you know of any truck clubs I could contact?  I would like to take the sweptline box off and put a utiline box on instead.  I live in Iola, WI, home of the Midwest's Largest Car Show, which is coming up this July 9th through the 12th, so finding parts shouldn't be too hard.  Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank You.
