I have a 440 with March power pulleys on it minus the alternator pulley, as it is a press on pulley, and the battery does not seem to stay charged. Without my electric fans on I am getting 13v at the battery (located in the trunk) with the fans on it drops to 12v at an idle. I also have an MSD 6AL box and Distributor, along with and electric fuel pump and two electric fans. Both the fans and the fuel pump have relays running to them. Do I need a bigger alternator, bigger wires,???? Please help! Thanks

I will trust you have the newer style charging system, or the dual field alt used on 70 and up cars with the electronic reg. 13 volts suggests your system is charging however you need to check the amp. output of the system. If it is less than 50 amps total I would recommend stepping up to a larger output alt. Especially with the number of electrical units you are running. Doc

What size amp ALT do you think I should go with I have the 75 and I have seen some on Jegs that go up to I want to say 200 that seems a bit extreme. Any and all input will be appreciated.

I believe a 90 amp or 120 amp would be plenty. Doc
