i recently bout a 1968 plymouth fury iii with a 318 2-barrel and i've been tickering with it since the last few owners took such bad care of it, i've recently come into an idle problem. Every time i start it now i have to keep my foot lightly pressed on the gas or she'll die out on me, the worst part happens when i go to shift from park to drive or into reverse, and now i have to resort to driving with two feet because every time i come to a red light the RPM's just drop and it dies.
i'm pretty sure it's my carb or something with my fuel system

It's the carb, if it was fuel it would die foot on or off. Sounds like a bad idle circuit. Try turning both idle screws fully in and back them off 2 turns each and adjust the idle speed. If adjustment doesn't work the carb will have to be rebuilt or replaced. Hope this helps.

I agree, sounds like an idle circit problem. Clean or rebuild the carb. Check for a vacuum leak too. I had a bad brake booster once that acted the same way.
