Can anyone recommend or not this vendor (440 Source).  I've talked with them, emailed them and all there products look great to me.  The problem I have is the old saying if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.  New rods sets for under $300.00, Aluminum heads for $899.00 etc.  I've looked all over the internet chat rooms and there seems to be no consensus.  Just don't want a motor that falls apart, but heh I got the stuff for a bargain.

I just baught a g.drive starter and some headbolts. the starter looks great but dont know how it performs yet, due to my project being unfinished. The head bolts were 1/2 the price as arp and are rated for the same tensile strenght. I dont think you could actully go wrong with em. Im getting ready to try some roller rockers from em.It really sounds to me like theyve' got their stuff together.

I just bought the 440 rear seal retainer from them. Nice part but shipping was alot more than I thought it should be. The part was $40 and shipping was $17.50. I bet it only cost them $7.50 at the most to ship it.
There are other posts here about their heads not fitting the head gaskets so look some of those up before you buy them. Good luck......

Yeh I heard about the head gasket problem too.  I was curious if anybody had found out more about the quality of the metallurgy involved in the head castings and the connecting rods.  I've talked to several machinists and they say if it's made out of metal it's all made in China right now (yes cheap labor) . It's the finishing work that matters?  I wanted the stealth heads because of the spark plug location and if you paint them they'll look stock.  I know the Edel are good but they definitely give themselves away visually.
