Hello all I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself and my car and ask a few questions. I just picked up a 1975 Duster about a week ago for $1200 and I was wondering if I got a good deal. It has 105k miles, slant 6 w/ auto trans column shift, the interior is some kind of electric blue which i guess is original. The body is primer gray and in near perfect condition with a little surface rust on the roof. Floor pans and trunk pan are intact and solid. The guy told me it needed a carb because it kept shutting off and took forever to start, I replaced the coil first and set the timing and now it runs like a champ. The only real problems I am having is the car needs all new door seals and there is some wiring issue under the dash where I have to wiggle the wires under the dash or tap the dash with my fist in order to get power to the ignition cylinder. I was thinking about just gutting the car and rewiring it with something from painless, if I decide to go this route is it difficult to do or should I just chase down the short? Here are some photos.
