Judy Lilly to be Reunited with her 1967 Plymouth Belvedere I 426 HEMI 4-Speed After 41 Years!
The 25th Annual Midwest Mopars in the Park National Car Show & Swap Meet will be held on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31, 2009. The largest ALL MOPAR car show and swap meet in the Midwest will again be held at the Dakota County Fairgrounds in Farmington, Minn.
In addition to the more than 1,000 expected pristine Mopar show cars, notable Mopar celebrities Mr. Norm and Galen Govier, and a full roster of seldom seen, private collector specialty cars, there will be a Mopar Tribute to Mopar racing history-making drivers and their cars.
Plus, in a special ceremony on Saturday morning, Judy Lilly will be reunited with her very first Mopar race car, the 1967 Plymouth Belvedere I 426 HEMI 4-speed that she won the CDR High Altitude Nationals Super/Stock Eliminator title with in 1967! The car is now owned by Jim Drain of Pinellas Park, FL who has painstakingly restored the car to the condition she last saw it in some 41 years ago! For more information on Judy Lilly, Miss Mighty Mopar, and the resoration project, visit www.HarmsAuto.com.
Also included in the Mopar Tribute with Judy Lilly will be Don Grotheer, “Akron” Arlen Vanke, and a salute to the racing team of Sox and Martin. “The Boss” Ronnie Sox will be represented by his wife, Diane Sox and two of the original race cars now owned and displayed by Clark Rand will be on hand along with Clark’s rendition of the Dodge race car hauler truck used by the team in the late sixties.
The Mopar Tribute will be a great opportunity for visitors to meet these outstanding individuals who changed the course of Mopar racing history, relive history with them, and see their original history-making Mopar machines. You won’t want to miss this one! For more information on the Midwest Mopars in the Park car show, visit www.midwestmopars.com.
