rpm = mph x gear ratio x 336 / tire diameter

plug in different tire diameters for a given mph and gear ratio. Select the tire diameter that gets you close to the rpm that you want to turn.

Mickey Thompson ET Streets are a very good tire, they are DOT approved and have the same compound as their reg. drag slick. I personally would go to a 28x9. This is a little tall for what your gear ratio is, however the taller tire will actually help the converter stall higher and help get you out of the hole quick with zero wheel spin. I used a 27x9 for one yr. and found they were border line with my 400+ horse small block.
You can tune the carb if necessary to help you leave hard by installing bigger shooters and jets.
