I have a 1983 Datsun 280 ZX with a 318 and a 727 Torqueflite tranny. I am getting ready to improve the 318 and I need help with cam selection. The engine will have aftermarket dual plane intake, 600 cfm carb, and shorty headers. I have purchased some Crane valve springs with 130lb seat pressure. The heads are stock as well as the bottom end. The rear end gears are around 3.50. The car weighs about 2800 pounds. The tranny has a stock converter in now, but I can upgrade if I need to. I definately want a rough or lopey idle. It will have 2 into one exhaust with the primary being 3" tube. Any suggestions would be helpful. And yes I am on a budget, aren't we all.  , but I also want quality parts.
